About Our School
The Nulsen Primary School community promotes a positive and supportive learning environment developing resilience and excellence for students to be successful learners in a rapidly changing world.
The school was established in 1972 and is a Level 4 Independent Public school located in Esperance. The name 'Nulsen' was given to the school in honour of Mr Emil Nulsen who served as the MLA for the Esperance region from 1932-1962. Emil Nulsen was noted for his sincerity and fair play with the school adopting these qualities and upholding these values.
Our School Community is committed to the Social and Emotional Well Being of students. The Tribes program is embedded throughout our school, our curriculum and are the basis of our school values. We believe that the strength of a community enriches the culture we embed and encourages and accepts the individuality of everyone within.
Nulsen Primary School’s pastoral care programs have achieved great success in providing a friendly, happy school, which impacts positively on student outcomes. The innovative programs recognise, respond to, and accommodate academic, social and cultural diversity within our school community. Our Breakfast Club, Little Yorga’s Program, Student Engagement programs, Community Nurse, and the Clontarf Football Academy all work symbiotically to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.
Our educational programs focus on Literacy and Numeracy. Our core beliefs are founded on what makes a successful student, effective teacher, and a good school. The dedicated team of highly professional and committed staff provide an outstanding learning environment for our students and whole school community. We ensure all our students are provided the tools and strategies needed to ensure a successful pathway into the future. The focus begins prior to Kindy and extends to pathways beyond high school. The Kindilink program provides opportunities to engage with families, identify students needs from birth and provide support to future Nulsen families. Transition programs in year’s five and six enable strong relationships and connections with the local high school to be formed, entrenching the importance of education whilst creating support networks around our students.
